Colins 2016 NFL predictions – The Autumn wind is a Raider again

first_imgPrediction time! How will your favorite NFL team fare in 2016? @ColinCowherd tells you. #HerdHerehttps://t.co/lplThITYNQ— Herd w/Colin Cowherd (@TheHerd) July 26, 2016 AFC WestRaiders                 10 – 6Chiefs                   9 – 7Broncos                6 – 10Chargers              5 – 11Headline: The Autumn wind is a Raider again, as the Raiders complete a near 15 year climb from irrelevancy to win the AFC West. Led by the combo of quarterback Derek Carr and Amari Cooper on offense, and stud pass rusher Kahlil Mack, the Raiders look poised for a string of playoff runs. The Defending Super Bowl champion Broncos will fall off of the map after losing both quarterbacks and enduring the prickly Von Miller contract negotiations. It’s too much turnover for the Broncos, who are suddenly on the outside looking in. Andy Reid and the highlight challenged Chiefs grab a Wild Card spot. NFCNFC EastCowboys             11 – 5Giants                   8 – 8Redskins              7 – 9Eagles                   4 – 12Highlights:  Tony Romo returns to lead the Cowboys back from the dead to win the division. With the addition of Ezekiel Elliott running behind the Cowboys dominant offensive line, it’s a party at Jerry’s World and everyone’s invited. No other teams make the playoffs in a weak year for the division, led by the Eagles, who look will be a dumpster fire. NFL training camps kicked off yesterday, and football is finally here. You can stop feigning interest in the Tucson Open and who’s battling for the second Wild Card in the National League, and start way too prematurely preparing for your fantasy draft. In the preseason, every team is undefeated, and even the most dejected fanbases have hope that this is finally the year things turn around (unless your a Browns fan). The one constant in the NFL is change.  What rookies will breakout and make an impact? What stars will fall off? For each of the last 10 years, 4 teams made the playoffs, missed them the following year. So, who’s up? Who’s down?  Who’s in? Who’s out? Today In The Herd, Colin laid out his annual NFL Predictions for the upcoming season. Advertisement NFC NorthPanthers              13 – 3Saints                    8 – 8Buccaneers         7 – 9Falcons                 7 – 9Headlines: After coming out of nowhere last year, Cam Newton and the Panthers make it back to back division crowns, proving last year wasn’t a fluke. The Panthers will welcome back their number one wide out Kelvin Benjamin and have a favorable schedule. They will dominate a division rounded out by average teams in various states of disrepair. AFC South Colts                      12 – 4Titans                    8 – 8Jaguars                 7 – 9Texans                  2 – 14Headlines: The Colts win the most improving division in football, riding a manageable schedule and a resurgent Andrew Luck, who will have an MVP level year. The Titans will be the most improved team in the league as Marcus Mariota continues to develop into a franchise quarterback. The Jaguars will also continue to improve with a talented young roster, but will need another year to marinate before contending.center_img AFCAFC EastPatriots                11 – 5Jets                        9 – 7Bills                       7 – 9Dolphins              7 – 9Headlines: The Patriots win the most predictable division in football. Assuming the Jets sign Ryan Fitzpatrick, Colin likes the Jets’ roster and has them as the Wild Card at 9 – 7. NFC North Packers                13 – 3Vikings                 9 – 7Bears                     6 – 10Lions                     5 – 11Headlines: Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy come back strong to win the division after disappointing last season, and facing unfamiliar off season heat for the first time. The Vikings get into the playoffs as a Wild Card, and continue to make strides under second year coach Mike Zimmer, even though the offense, led by sophomore starter Teddy Bridgewater, will struggle. NFC WestCardinals             11 – 5Seattle                 11 – 5Rams                     7 – 949ers                     4 – 12Highlights: The Cardinals and Seahawks have the best rosters in teh division and end up on top, Cardinals win the division and Seattle ends up with 11 wins after trudging through a brutal travel schedule. Chip Kelly has the toughest schedule in the league and will struggle in his first season with the Niners. AFC NorthSteelers               10 – 6Bengals                8 – 8Ravens                 8 – 8Browns                 2 – 14Headlines: The Steelers will win the division in a year where Mike Tomlin could find himself on the hot seat if they don’t produce. The Bengals window is closing. Following the departure of offensive coordinator Hue Jackson to the Browns, two wide receivers leaving in free agency, and Tyler Eifert injured at the start of the season, the Bengals will take a step back. 2016 Playoff Teams:Your 2016 NFL playoff teams. #HerdPredictions pic.twitter.com/4nq7C699E5— Herd w/Colin Cowherd (@TheHerd) July 26, 2016last_img read more
