Klopp urges UEFA to act against clubs that break FFP rules

first_imgLiverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has urged UEFA to take action against clubs if they break the rules on Financial Fair Play.German magazine Der Spiegel claims Sheikh Mansour’s City regime added multi-million-pound sponsorship deals with Abu Dhabi companies and using their owner’s fortune to meet UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) stipulations.Last Friday, the Football Leaks emerged with allegations that City were given an FFP settlement when they received sanctions for overspending by UEFA in 2014, and although the club declined to comment on what was called “out of context materials purportedly hacked or stolen from City Football Group and Manchester City”, it claimed “the attempt to damage the club’s reputation is organized and clear.”On his own, Klopp feels UEFA should take appropriate actions when clubs breache the rules, stating that the rules are a good thing for football when enforced.“I heard about the Der Spiegel story, but I didn’t read it so far,” Klopp said as quoted by Goal.divock origi, liverpoolReport: Origi cause Klopp injury concerns George Patchias – September 14, 2019 Divock Origi injury in today’s game against Newcastle is a cause for concern for Jurgen Klopp.Perhaps with one eye on Tuesday’s trip to Italy…“It’s really difficult to comment but what I can say in general is that FFP is a really good thing. But we always thought that.”“If it’s in place, they (UEFA) have to do something with it. I have no clue what happens, I know it is about Paris obviously and Man City,” he said.“I’m not sure if other clubs are being talked about as well. That’s all I can say. I think FFP is a really good thing because it sets the rules and stuff like that.”“If everything is fine, then everything is fine. If not, then somebody should do something.”last_img read more

Painting Hope

first_imgArtist Ekta Jain is soon going to display her solo painting exhibition with the theme of her exhibition titled Hope and Never Despair. The exhibition which will begin on 9 May will display her abstracts which are reflective of hope and faith and of assurance and conviction. Ekta Jain is a promising star on the horizon of art and artistry. Ekta’s artwork is autobiographical and bears a close resemblance to her never-say-die spirit and cheerful demeanour, finding vivid translation in her aesthetically pleasing formations and fabrications on the canvas.  Also Read – ‘Playing Jojo was emotionally exhausting’The core theme of Ekta Jain’s portrayals remain Hope and never to despair which cannot escape the on-lookers attention. The illuminated niches , ray of dance lighting in the dark crevices; beam of radiance dispelling the gloom- are subtle statements occupying the focal point in her creations. There is a symmetrical oneness in her apparently diversified expressions like her name which implies unity, uniformity, solidarity and  homogeneity. Her interplay with splashing colours started at a tender age till it metamorphosed into emphatic narrations.  Also Read – Leslie doing new comedy special with NetflixHer journey to urban spaces is punctuated by her desire to discover layers upon layers of soul’s responses to civility or lack of it. The innate desire led her to formulate and execute her concept without any formal exercise in art.Her arches link urban space to traditional architecture. Her paintings are like palimpsest. Elusive at times and evasive too, one thing that is sure is that Ekta Jain’s work never fails to impact, impress and inspire.last_img read more

Online Training Platform Gives Job Seekers a Boost

first_img Register Now » 3 min read This story appears in the December 2012 issue of . Subscribe » What It IsLearnUp.me, an online job placement and training platform, enables job seekers to bone up on specific skills required by prospective employers. Companies post their open positions, ranging from bakery clerk to technology associate, then add links to training videos on YouTube or other approved material. For example, Staples candidates might be asked to watch the YouTube video “How to Make a Business Card.” Once users complete the training, their LearnUp résumés are automatically updated to reflect their efforts, and they can be considered for the open slot. How It StartedAfter her startup Valence Energy was acquired in 2010, Alexis Ringwald became interested in the unemployment problem. She spent six months interviewing people in the unemployment lines in the Bay Area, trying to determine what was keeping them from landing work.”It seemed a lot of people’s skills were out of sync with the labor market needs of today,” Ringwald says. “There was a sense of confusion by the job seekers, a paralysis over what they needed to learn to be qualified.”In September 2011 Ringwald met Kenny Ma at the education-themed Mega Startup Weekend at Microsoft’s campus in Mountain View, Calif., and the two joined together to launch LearnUp, which was announced in June at the Clinton Global Initiative America meeting in Chicago. Why It Took Off”Even employers with entry-level positions are having a hard time finding skilled workers,” Ringwald says. Her vision was for LearnUp to bridge the gap, giving job seekers the expertise they needed and companies an educated employee pool from which to choose. Staples and Safeway were on the board of the San Jose, Calif., unemployment office and signed up immediately. Gap, KPMG, TeleTech, Whole Foods Market and others came on shortly thereafter. The Business CaseBacked in part by venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates, LearnUp recently received $1.9 million in funding, enough to build the team and expand throughout California. The company’s revenue model is based on a finder’s fee for successful job placements. Job seekers are not charged to access the listings or to complete any required training.Still in startup mode, Ringwald won’t divulge the number of positions LearnUp has filled so far, noting that the company is using San Jose as a test case. What’s NextLearnUp is working with community colleges in California to help guide curriculum development that will give students the education that prospective employers are seeking. The company is also working with its national clients to expand job placements for positions across California by the end of the year. Growing a business sometimes requires thinking outside the box.
