Swire Blue Ocean has appointed Mikkel Gleerup as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).Gleerup joined the company as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in February 2017.Since November 2017, Gleerup has been Interim CEO and the board has now decided that he is the right person to lead Swire Blue Ocean into the future, the company said.Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, Swire Blue Ocean supports the installation of offshore wind farms and operates two wind farm installation vessels (WIVs), Pacific Orca and Pacific Osprey.In addition to the WIVs, the company supports the installation of offshore wind farms by offering parent company Swire Pacific Offshore’s fleet of over 80 support vessels.In June 2016, Siemens contracted Swire Blue Ocean for the provision of a WIV for the installation of 84 Siemens 7MW turbines at the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm.

A hearty crowd attended the opening night action on a very blustery chilly late April evening. Austin Moyer shot to the front early in the 20-lap IMCA Modified feature from his second row start. Moyer drove the Boyse race team 1M ride to a convincing win ahead of Zach Less and Joel Callahan. Austin Heacock drove his no. 22 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod to the win in the 18-lap main event. Heacock held off the strong running Justin Becker in getting to the finish line first. Cory VanZante took third at the stripe. A solid field of IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars took the green flag in their 12 lap feature. Cole Mather advanced from the seventh starting position in scoring the win ahead of Scooter Dulin. Friday night, May 4 will be a very special night of racing as Farley Speedway will honor Harry Bauer, father of SportMod driver Troy Bauer. The Harry Bauer Memorial will get underway with hot laps at 7 p.m.
