Will tap feasibility of India-Lisbon flights: Diplomat to Goa

first_imgministerPanaji, Aug 22 (PTI) Indian Ambassador to Portugal Nandini Singla today said she would initiate talks with Air India to explore the feasibility of direct flights from Lisbon to India.The diplomat told Goa Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar that possibility of starting such flights is subject to commercial viability.”Portugal has decided to work on the promotion of tourism with Goa, its erstwhile colony. Singla todayimpressed onimprovingtourism ties between Goa andPortugal,in addition toboosting the prospects ofexchange programmes in the areas of sports and literature,” the Tourism department said in a press release.”With tourism as the common platform for Goa and Portugal, Singla urged Goa Tourism department to participate at the Portugal TravelMart as Goa has all the ingredientsto attract foreign nationals from Portugal,” it said.She alsourged the department toseek any assistance from the Governmentof Portugal regardingconservation and restoration projects in abid topreserve Goas richheritage.
