Meizu teases its OnePlus 6T killer for India, rumoured to sport Snapdragon 855 chipset

first_imgMeizu made an entry into the Indian market late last year with three smartphones. While two of them were priced under Rs 15,000, the Meizu 16th came at around Rs 30,000. The smartphone offered a Snapdragon 845 chipset and a distinct narrow-bezel design. While the phone couldn’t create hype around itself, Meizu is coming back with another phone to create an impact in the premium smartphone segment. The company has started teasing a new device and from what it seems, it appears to be the Meizu 16s.The social media teasers are focusing on the number 16, indirectly hinting at the Meizu 16s. The teasers also show a device with a display looking familiar to the Meizu 16th. The device is teased to sport very narrow bezels all around. Like the Meizu 16th, the top and the bottom bezels are proportionate and lack any kind of notch or slider mechanism. The top bezel could feature the front facing camera and all the other sensors. Meizu is also teasing the presence of an in-display fingerprint sensor on the upcoming device.Others just have a big screen. But this is SUPER. Slashleaks latest collection of all the information with regards to the Meizu 16s seems legitimate, along with all the photos. The photos show a device looking familiar to the Meizu 16th with very slim forehead and chin. There are almost negligible bezels to the sides and Mezu is one of the few companies that highlight the bezels in a white shade. The smartphone seems to be running on Meizu’s proprietary custom OS.advertisement The Meizu 16s is also rumoured to be running on Qualcomm’s brand new Snapdragon 855 chipset – the same SoC that underpowers the Galaxy S10 and Xiaomi’s Mi 9. The device is also expected to sport a 6.2-inch AMOLED display. The smartphone will also sport a 48-megapixel camera, although it isn’t known whether it will use a Sony sensor or a Samsung sensor.The Meizu 16s is expected to go up against the OnePlus 6T in India. With a Snapdragon 855 and a 48-megapixel camera, the Meizu 16s could be one of the first smartphones in India to bring the Snapdragon 855 chip.
