Train derailment near Field BC

(660 NEWS) – At around 10:00 am on Thursday a 15-car train derailed in B.C., just east of Field.So far investigators from the Transportation Safety Board (TSB) are not able to release much information about what happened.“It was a westbound train travelling at 14 miles per hour,” said Alexandre Fournier with the TSB.Fournier said there were no reports of any injuries brought to the TSB. He could not confirm if there was any kind of spill as a result of the derailment.It’s too early in the investigation to point to a cause of the derailment.CP Rail said in a release there were no injuries and “no concern to the public” at this time.Work crews have been sent to the site of the derailment and the investigation is ongoing.Editor’s note: On Thursday, the TSB said 27 cars derailed but updated that information when an investigator arrived on the scene later in the day.
